Make Detailed Drawing Information Available to Everyone on the Project!

OrthoView combines the power of OrthoGen’s multi-discipline annotation with OrthoView’s interactive model clipping capability. Drawing view volumes and orientations are defined interactively and instantly annotated with desired discipline information. OrthoView’s simple interface and portable dataset allows it to be used by anyone, anywhere.

With this new interactive annotation capability, drawings can be extracted virtually anywhere and with very little user training.  OrthoView data sets can easily be taken to the construction or plant site. When an OrthoView data set is created, you have the option of copying models to your local hard disk.  If this option is selected, the OrthoView data set is now a standalone subset of the 3D project and can be easily transferred to a client or field office.

Using OrthoView’s model clipping controls, you can annotate any part of the model without having to create any drawing files first.  Three views are displayed on the screen along with the OrthoView form.  The first view is a plan view of the model and the second is an elevation view selected by the user, which can either be a north, south, east, or west view.  The third view is used to annotate desired information and is able to be viewed in any orientation such as plan, north, east, etc.  After the drawing is annotated, this view can be plotted in the regular wire frame mode, with the smooth shading effect, or the drawing can be saved and run through hidden line removal to produce a traditional “line” drawing. Drawings can also be “rendered” to image files such as JPEG and then printed.

Using OrthoView on your projects will improve design communication and productivity.  OrthoView is the most efficient way to make drawings from your models regardless of the discipline. OrthoView can get you the information you need from the model in a traditional orthographic drawing format.  It will cut down on man-hours spent checking and coordinating with other disciplines.  With its rendering capabilities and superimposed annotation, OrthoView can create drawings that are easily understood by all.
